Mamma mia is it a beautiful site. I am sure I can recommended it for canoeing or swimming in the summertime, but even wrapped up in a scarf and gloves in the frigid winter air, it was a spectacular site worth seeing.
There is something about the way the light falls, like wispy, energetic flashes of sunlight across the canvas of the candy-colored, faded buildings of the old cities; scattered amongst the abundant greenery, and cascading, through the old vines amongst the yellowing leaves of fall.
The sky was clear and crisp, accompanied by beautiful, pillowy, white clouds, amidst the clean blue-blue air. It was a refreshing landscape in comparison to the hustle and bustle of my home-base in Milan.
